We spoke to Kathrin Williams from Christ the King College about how FACE-Ed is helping them to save extensive admin time
Christ the King College is a Voluntary-aided school with over 1000 pupils on the Isle of Wight
“Prior to using an online system for recruitment, we were paper-based and recruiting new staff was a huge administrative burden. Having to manually produce and distribute job adverts takes time and responding to applicants using a manual system, is both time consuming and difficult to keep track of. Many hours were spent calling applicants, chasing candidate references and duplicating admin work for new employees.
One of the greatest benefits of FACE-Ed is the fact that we now have everything in one place. This means nothing gets lost or missed and there is no need to duplicate work. When an applicant is successful, we can simply pull all their information across from FACE-Ed into an employee file in SAMpeople and then this also feeds back into SIMS. This saves a lot of time, duplication of work and cuts down on error. Being able to automatically send job ads to our social media, as well as to other vacancy sites, is a massive benefit. There is an easy process to follow and all applications are online with a full candidate portal. Applications can be quickly seen, and you don’t have to wait for the interview to find out something is wrong; gaps in a CV, or missing documents are flagged early in the system.
It is great to see our suggestions for developments being implemented too in FACE-Ed. They have a product board where you can vote for the things you think are the most important and then see when they go into development.
Our recruitment process is much slicker and more efficient. I would recommend it and can’t imagine ever going back to a manual system.”
